The Gallery Winds Chamber Music Summer Camp is open to all students entering grades 7 through graduating high school seniors – exceptions may be made for younger students, based on instrument need and student experience.  All students MUST play one of these five instruments to enroll:
Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon

Camp is held Monday through Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm.  The week will conclude with a Friday concert beginning at 3:00pm.  The concert is free and open to the public.  It will also be recorded and made available as an unlisted YouTube video.
**Please note that the concert will begin at a different time than previous years!**
Students may register for one week or two weeks.  Each week will focus on different repertoire and conclude with a Friday evening performance.

Preformed Quintet Discount –
$25 discount per member

Located at Mt. Hebron Presbyterian Church in Ellicott City, Maryland, The Gallery Winds Chamber Music Summer Camp offers a week of intense performance, learning and musical fun!  Camp is open to all flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon students entering grades 7 through graduating high school seniors.  The following disciplines will be covered:

– Small ensembles of mixed instruments
– Small ensembles of like instruments
– Reed making and adjustment
– Breathing and air support
– Audition and performance preparation
– Rehearsal techniques

In addition to small and large ensemble rehearsals, there will be daily masterclasses for each instrument group covering a variety of topics.  Special guests are frequently brought in to perform and work with the students.  Past guests have included chamber groups from the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and local military bands, instrument repairmen, yoga instructors and many local college professors.

Why Chamber Music?

Chamber music is a form of classical music composed for a small group of musicians, each with their own part to play.  Students attending The Gallery Winds Chamber Music Camp will learn leadership and collaboration skills.  Each student will be personally responsible for their musical contribution during camp.  Performing in small ensembles, students will develop confidence and stage presence.

Please note that as interest in The Gallery Winds Chamber Music Summer Camp has grown, space is limited.  We will have a limit to the number of students per instrument we can accept.  Submitting the registration form may not guarantee acceptance into the camp.  We will attempt to accommodate as many students as possible!  If there is a student we are unable to accept, you will be notified as soon as possible.  A waiting list will be held in case any spots open.
